28th-Sep-2017 10:19 am - Intro: What We Are
The Queer Women Artists' Directive, QWAD, started life in May of 2007 in the Boston area as the Queer Women Artists' Dinner, a monthly,  in-person, informal gathering for socializing, networking and sharing ideas and information. Queer women have a rich history in the arts and an even richer present. As the old button used to say "We are Everywhere". But we don't always know where to turn to find peers, mentors or support. Queer Women Artists' Directive is a starting place for queer women artists everywhere to get what they need.
If you are a queer woman who is a
-Visual Artist (including sculptor, painter or photographer)
-Writer or Writer/Performer
-Filmmaker
-Musician
-Performance artist
We’d love to hear from you. Here’s your chance to talk about your artistic life: your work, and what you are doing (or would like to do) with it, while sharing tips about leads, dead-ends and balancing creative time, administrative time and the demands of a day job while maintaining a relationship (or finding time to date). We are not a group for critiquing work, but for getting your work into the larger world. All ages and stages of career welcome.
